@donkey How did you wire the brake lights and gfc track lighting? My understanding is that gfc doesn’t wire it during installation at their hq and there isn’t much good information online. Any help and/or photos are appreciated. I’m picking mine up at gfc hq in a month and want to be prepared.

GFC allows 60 minutes for installation, so they definitely do NOT wire the third brake light. Here is my solution, it worked well.

Use a multimeter and check voltage at the tail light. I haven’t cared to do it but it’s easy.

so you have a shell on the back but didn't connect the third break light? and cops don't pull you over regularly? wow, impressive. if i had a bad third break light, every time i stopped, i would get pulled over.

You cannot just splice into the existing wires, it will trigger strange warnings, you have to use an adapter.

Where you will really get into trouble with no functional third BL is if your lower lights are obscured, for example with a bicycle on a hitch rack. And that increases the risk of getting rear ended if you stop suddenly.

All you’re doing is pulling power and a trigger from the third brake light. Did you try it and it had problems? I know multiple other people who tapped in with no problems.

California baby, cops don’t care about that really.
