Thank you John and Jim, I went to a local u-haul and purchased a 7,500 lbs tow weight and 750 tongue weight with a 5 3/4 drop solid non adjustable hitch with a 2" heave duty ball. Than I took my Ranger and the hitch to the boat yard and lined it up with the trailer it looked like a good fit.

One more question what drop ( 6 or 8") do you use on your hitch ?

I thought I would use tow/ haul mode and 4×4 low on the boat ramp to get the best results.

Sounds good, my big concern is a steep and wet boat ramp. I don't need to tow that far.

I have a 24' boat and duel axel trailer that total 6,200 lbs. I have watched videos that showed the Ranger towing 7,500 lbs but I would like to here from 6G members that have used the 2.3L Ranger to tow 7,500 lbs.

For the last 21/2 my 04 f150 only got used for towing, firewood,moving furniture and getting mulch for landscaping my house. My daily driver was my 22 maverick. I purchased my 24 Ranger to replace my 04 f150 and do it's duties but the Ranger has become my daily driver. I like driving the...

The Ranger does sit pretty tall so I installed side steps and that was a big help for me and the wife getting in and out.

I'm retired now and no longer need the full size of a new F150, the 24 Ranger with my towing needs is a good fit.
