I think it will only really be a nuisance if I'm towing a camper or other boxy trailer where mpg will likely drop to 10mpg. The wife's bladder can't make it more than about 250 miles anyways.
I towed a camper across the SW US a few years ago in my X3 which also has an 18gallon tank and it gets...
Yeah the car I planned to trade against the RRaptor, has gone from 70k miles to 80k miles since ordering. However the trade value I'm looking at has gone from $28k to $18k (Fucking wild for a 5 year old car to lose 30% of its value in 6 months). It basically ate up all the equity I had in the...
Ford's customer facing ordering system is so janky. ?
I got the email this weekend that they were still waiting to schedule my build. For whatever reason, I logged into my Ford account (that I hadn't used since 2014), and sure enough on the front page it shows my Raptor order with a VIN and...
If I recall Long Mcarthur Ford had reported that was the case alot last year, but I believe at some point he mentioned that it was no longer an issue, but he still had a general advice of not adding accessories that could be dealer installed if time was important to you.
I have the spray in...
I got that email as well last night, but for shits and giggles checked with Ford chat for any additional info. They have me scheduled for 2/26 build and gave me a VIN.
Ordered May 28
Converted from Stock to Retail July 14
I was just talking about bailing on the Ranger order for the new Land...
Honestly I would almost prefer that they leave it off by default and can use Forscan to enable the RoW version, because the US Spec for adaptive headlighting still has lower max brightness settings than RoW.
Would probably make it easier to Forscan activate the RoW version.
Occasional usage on forest service roads when we visit New Mexico. My BMW X3 is perfectly capable, but the ride is so rough.
Mostly it will be used for mobbing the median curbs that my city is building everywhere for traffic control, that are completely unneeded. RRaptor should be able to eat...
iForce is the non-hybrid. Only reason I'd be interested in a Tacoma is for the Iforce Max hybrid. Based on the Tundra its probably 1-2 mpg higher for the hybrid, but would still be nice to have official numbers and price.
No numbers for i-Force Max models or the TRD Pro. Yawn. Manufacturers trickling out information to keep the hypetrain rolling is super fucking annoying.
I wonder how much help a 255/75-17 All season would improve the fuel economy on the Raptor. In the Bronco its like 10% better mpg with the 2.7 between the 285 factory tire and the 255. And a set of All seasons would murder the KO2 in wet braking performance.
If a TRD-Pro or TRD off road shows up on a lot near me at sticker, I'll probably jump ship.
Also keeping an eye on Rivian. If they get the R1T eligible for the full $7500 tax credit and drop prices any, I might just buy one of those.
I wonder if my dealership got their orders previewed today, because their sales manager called me asking me to send them copies of the deal that I had worked with my salesman (who I found out no longer works there). Pretty sure they were trying to fleece me for anything that hadn’t been...
There's a bunch of different technologies all lumped into "adaptive" headlights, some of them have been legal in the US for a long time like steering headlamps and automatic hi-beam. In Europe they allow for adaptive speed beam patterns and hi-beam anti-dazzle, that keeps your high beams on even...
I haven't seen ANY US cars using the full speed adaptive beams and anti-dazzle features that they have elsewhere. It didn't become legal in the US until mid-2022.
And even if the US RRaptor gets them, the US lighting laws are still more restrictive than ROW, they still have lower allowable...
I'm hoping someone will quickly figure out how to enable the full adaptive functions on the US Spec Ranger Matrix lights when they come to market. I had the full Euro adaptive headlights activated on my US BMW X3 a few years ago and it makes an insane difference in how well you can see when...
