I haven't experienced this at all...
Both my RR and Explorer ST are way better than any other turbo vehicles I've driven regarding tip-in, hesitation and how turbo spooling feels.
Recommend driving any CVT Subaru XT model if you want to know what shitty trans tuning and wacky tip-in is really...
These look real nice. I like the gray, but of course the black would match the interior better.
I had a bad experience with the 'duck canvas' covercraft version that's pretty similar to this and it ripped really bad during install.
I'm willing to get hurt again though, haha...
You confused me, because OEM (32.7) and 295s (33.3) are both sold/advertised as 33 inch tires with marginally different widths (11.2 vs 11.6). The OEM is simply an undersized 33, and the 295 is an oversized 33.
Obviously you're correct regarding availability in that fitment, but the question...
" For those of you that have gone up in tire size "
You wanted to know, but you aren't actually interested in running meaningfully larger tires?
Forums are weird sometimes.
That looks real clean and nice! The lightbar ties it all together well.
I'm not typically a fan of multicam/realtree accents, but it looks really good here on what I'm assuming is marsh gray.
Yes, it's stupid that off-road defaults to the rear locker on. Rock crawl, sure could see that, but not the regular off-road mode.
I never have lockers on unless I'm climbing something steep or going through somewhere where I know I'm going to be lifting tires. Would never have them on when...
I saw this as well...the only podcast I regularly sit through and watch the whole thing. Doug is great.
But the pricing worries me...Ford has specifically stated it wants this to compete in the G-Wagen segment (~$120k+ ??), which would put it out of reach of most people that want it.
Hopefully...
Offset won't really matter as far as stashing your spare underneath; the tire winch thing doesn't care what your offset is, just keep cranking until it's tight up in there. The spare slot fits up to 35s no problem...mine is 35x12.5 /+35.
I bought 5 wheels
I see this all the time after I do off road stuff or climb/descend mountains (ex. I-8 in Cali between San Diego and Anza-Borrego)
I'll fill up after off-road shenanigans and my DTE will actually climb for a while, then it will stay the same as I track up the mountains on I-8 (because the MPG is...
This, 100%.
Also, call me crazy, but I feel like this is a truck that gets better the more miles that are put on it. Once all the computer learning is done and parts are worn-in, it feels even better IMO. It wants to be used and abused a bit.
The above being said....4A is appropriate for street driving. It acts as 2WD (RWD?) until it detects slippage, at which point the system sends torque to the front wheels.
But apparently it also acts as a quasi-AWD (per below thread) with varying torque to front wheels even without slippage...
Here's one on a shelter green RR (from: https://www.ranger6g.com/forum/threads/rsi-smartcap-installed-on-my-shelter-green-2024-ranger-raptor.10110/)
Looks kind of weird without a roof rack IMO.
Recommend looking into Alu Cab's Contour Canopy as well, pics in linked thread...another South...
This is kind of a ramble, but here goes..
Are you dead set on a wedge style tent? If not there are other high quality but cheaper options. The older fold-out styles are still popular for a reason. I personally run a Yakima Skyrise HD, and it's fine for the wife and I (for now, until...
I'm always late for this kind of stuff, but the issue was fixed under warranty. Dealer put in a new blower motor (apparently there's more than 1?) and the timeline was basically as advertised once diagnosis was complete. AC works fine now.
If you live in the SD metro area, Aaron Ford of Poway...
This is my dream!!
Not sure about reliability, but the little diesel they sell it with over in Oz would be pretty cool too. Google says they get 27-33MPG in that configuration...would have great range for extended overglamping activities.
I think the new 4Runner is horrifically...
I would have gotten one for the same reason, but it's just such an old platform and I feel like it's well past time for a refresh. If they did that I would trade my ST in ASAP.
