That’s surprising, the struts didn’t feel to strong at all to me. it’s the latch itself I have an issue with.

I have the same issue, about 3/4 way down there’s no resistance and you can slam it as normal - this is what I do

If it makes you feel any better, I bought my truck (technically pre-owned) just months after it had arrived to the dealer with less than 4k miles on it. The previous owner didn't attend the assault school and had sent me the invitation. I pretty much got the same response when I asked if I could go.

Did this quick install over the weekend. Added protection is always a bonus. Install was stupid easy.
