I have a similar policy at my shop for a multitude of reasons. Usually it is because people bring me parts for the incorrect application, missing crucial components, or just cheap Amazon junk with no instructions that ruins my techs days. I imagine in this case they just don't think it is worth...
I have wheeled mine pretty hard with 35" M/Ts and the 2.5" collars. No rubbing whatsoever but I also removed the front crash bars entirely so your mileage may vary. I have jumped it a few times and have done quite a bit of high speed stuff but no issues so far except having to get my truck...
I didn't even consider that, I haven't checked the clearance again since I put my 35 under there. I will have to mock it up again and hopefully not learn a hard lesson about cutting before you are 100% something will fit lol
For what it's worth, I have installed these on two Ranger Raptors at my shop for myself and a customer. They did lightly touch the plastic molding on mine but it was a non-issue. I did not have a problem with the hood closing or the brackets touching the hood.
What made you go with the passenger side over the drivers side? I was planning on putting the coupling in the same place but went with the drivers side bracket so I wouldn't have to run the air line too far.
I noticed mine runs 24/7 in Arizona as well now that it's hot. I would expect the fan to run pretty aggressively in these temps, but its odd that it kicks on at full blast even on a cold start in my garage. The fan is NOISY, I can hear it running over my mud tires, exhaust, radio, and A/C. A lot...
Cobb makes an intercooler that I was thinking about picking up. Currently my charge air temps run about 30* (40* on a really hot day, gotta love Arizona) over ambient and climbs pretty quickly at idle. The intercooler was one of the best mods I did on my Focus RS, I am curious if I would get the...
I actually think I have seen you driving this thing around in Scottsdale! Did you have to take the bumper off to install these? Also I am not sure if it bothers you but, if you take the 4 screw off the front you can flip the face plate so the letters aren't upside down on the light
How were you able to get those crash bars out by just unbolting them? I had to cut them in half to pull them out, they were too long and hit the bumper before they were a third of the way out (same in the rear). If I missing something that would make my life a lot easier because I am removing...
The removal of the OEM side steps is the biggest culprit. I'm in Arizona and have done a lot of off-road on gravel trails (I also have a +25mm offset so a bit of tire poke) and don't have a single rock chip on my fenders.
