Seems pretty common with the guys running bigger tires and more power. I'm not terribly worried about it, I still run the truck real hard, I just don't launch it anymore unless I have an afternoon to kill and a Ford dealer nearby.
Happens to me pretty frequently. It seems to come in waves, it will happen constantly for a few days to a week and then it won't happen again for months. I have had it try to switch into Baja 5+ times in a single 15 minute trip on multiple occasions. My truck is pretty modified but it happened...
Same thing happened to me brake boosting with the FP tune. Ford gave me a new axles shafts and a gear set. I'd still happily run an ethanol tune in the future and not be worried about reliability in the slightest. Just maybe no more launches:)
Not my post but I mentioned my setup higher up. I have done a lot more off-roading in various types of terrain since my last post. I did end up removing the rear crash bars because I saw some light wear marks when I was rotating the tires but I don't think it was 100% necessary, kind of one of...
The instructions were all easy enough, took about 20 minutes. I have never bothered with a battery charger when doing a tune, but it certainly couldn't hurt. I used to reflash my Focus RS once or twice a week to change between ethanol and pump gas and never hooked it up to a charger.
So you've got a tracking number already? I wonder why S&B was telling me it isn't ready yet then. Guess I will have to give them another call. I spoke with another dealer in town and they were telling me they are still just taking pre-orders
I am a dealer for S&B, I just called to place an order and I was told the intake is still in production and won't be available to ship until early July. He said if I order from the website I am basically just placing a backorder. Curious if anybody has ordered one and been provided a tracking...
I just installed mine myself and paid a shop with an ASE tech to give me an invoice with his ASE number. For what it's worth, I have taken my truck in for multiple repairs (some pretty substantial) and none of the service advisors cared in the slightest about the tune, I told them it was...
Yup! Just held it on the brake and as soon as I let off, clunk, no more drive. I had done it quite a few times before the tune with no issues. For what it's worth I beat on this truck pretty hard, so it wasn't the biggest surprise.
Do you ever "launch" your truck by holding the brake? I blew my rear diff doing that as soon as I installed the FP tune. I wasn't sure if it was just a freak think or something to be wary of after upping the torque.
I agree they look a little boring, I would disagree with cheap though because they actually hold up to age and don't get all faded and chalky after a year in the sun. I am usually a Baja Designs guy, but still I somehow ended up with Rigid rocklights, a-pillar lights, and 3 of their light bars...
I usually recommend people go with Rigid lights in ADD bumpers unless the bumper was designed specifically for Baja Designs. They design most of their bumpers around the dimensions of the Rigid options, so the fit and finish is more or less perfect. When you go to Baja Designs you will usually...
At 12,000 Miles I am coming up on alignment #11. Everything stays within spec except the toe which is constantly wandering off the mark. I have driven this thing with a steering wheel crooked to the left more often than having it straight. It has been to the dealership twice and they found no...
Not locked and no wheel hop, as soon as I let off the brake it busted and just didn't go anywhere. I do have 35" mud tires which probably didn't do my any favors, plus I was in 2wd.
