That is strange. The diff should not break from a full throttle power start. Something was wrong.

Seems pretty common with the guys running bigger tires and more power. I'm not terribly worried about it, I still run the truck real hard, I just don't launch it anymore unless I have an afternoon to kill and a Ford dealer nearby.

I have read where owners change the diff fluid to a heavier oil to help prevent wear and tear.
