This may not help you, but I have a friend who is ASE certified who I plan to install for me. How does one register or show proof that he installed the tune? As I plan on doing it myself and have him register it?

They require a copy of a shop invoice that employs ASE techs afaik. This may not help you, but I have a friend who is ASE certified who I plan to install for me. How does one register or show proof that he installed the tune? As I plan on doing it myself and have him register it?
Wait they took your $ then said no? Maybe I'm not understanding, but that is illegal under the implied warrant of merchantabilityOP paid for it to be installed by a Ford dealer, it's a silly suggestion to have him pay again at a separate mechanic to get it installed and retain the warranty.
look at his receipt - part of the online purchase from Ford is the installation at (any) Ford dealerWait they took your $ then said no? Maybe I'm not understanding, but that is illegal under the implied warrant of merchantability
You might try McGovern in Framingham. Just bought my truck from the last weekend. After I took deliver, the saleman mentioned that I could flash the truck for more power. I let him know I was aware of that and figured I'd do it at the first oil change. He said that was a pretty common strategy. I didn't ask specifically if they did it nor if I had to buy the unit through them for them to install it, but I certainly was left with the impression that have done flashes at the dealership. Be worth giving them a call to find out one way or the other. If anyone in Boston area can tell me a shop (SAE certified or Ford dealer) to do the work please LMK.
Until then Ford can...
You all are super helpful and yes I understand it’s so doable. The problem is KEEPING my Ford warrant. Unless they do it or a SAE mechanic with a letter to ford I lose my warranty.dude this shit is easy as hell. The problem is the instructions are dogshit I am an engineer so it was obvious how it works. If you need some help, message me man.
The key is understanding how it works:
(1) you go to the site and enter your code to add to tune yo your ford performance account
(2) Then you download the tun file
(3) you import the tune file into the FP SW.
(4) It downloaded into the OBDII box.
(5) You use the box to install it into the car
(6) your car will shut off/on a couple times
(7) Turn on your truck engine and for the first minute it's going to run like shit as the tuning parameters adjust.
(8) drive truck normally for 20 min and slowly through time add more throttle
Done
dude just fight themYou all are super helpful and yes I understand it’s so doable. The problem is KEEPING my Ford warrant. Unless they do it or a SAE mechanic with a letter to ford I lose my warranty.
