Ford has done something with the glass in my Raptor, at least. I hope they did it in all of them.
I've got extremely sensitive eyes, and every car I've driven has bothered me. I wear Revo blue glass sunglasses until the sun goes down completely, and always have since being prescribed that...
I wish I could move all those Raptor buttons somewhere else and replace them with audio controls.
They're obviously important, but it's a bit of a silly place to put them.
Operating the audio system would be a lot safer from the steering wheel than the complicated, too far down to safely look...
Transmission coolers become important under severe duty.
That includes towing close to the vehicle's capacity for lengthy periods of time (or exceeding it's capacity), towing very slowly under non-ideal conditions (such as through sand), towing every single day, encountering long, steep...
I've got a bit of a gripe with the seat, as well:
My ass isn't a pile of lard, so it's wider than it needs to be and, as a result, doesn't retain me as well as it should with those bolsters. Buy some treadmills, people.
You'll have the same amount of money in it either way, over time.
It comes down to whether or not you want to tailor the truck yourself, or just get the capability off the rack. In my case, I was just trying to buy as much capability as I could, this time.
I'm not actually much of a locker...
It occurred to me the other day that the lengthy startup procedure for this truck might have left me in a few pickles, in the past. The notable delays going between park, reverse, and drive wouldn't have been fun, either. 🤣
I haven't had to mess with them, personally.
I needed the bed lined immediately upon purchase, so I got the modular liner to use until I had it properly sprayed. After reading the rather extensive instructions, I just let the dealership install it. 🤣
The bolts all look new. Either they...
I can't remember where I read it, but I recall the factory torque specification being over 100 pound feet, which is insane for such a part; especially if thread locker is used and, from what I've seen, they use entirely too much thread locker.
I think it's a reasonable complaint, these days.
There's no reason why I shouldn't be able to change the display themes to green or amber, for example. Green displays have a reason to exist, and amber's the next best option.
That's a bit of an annoyance I have with modern cars; not just Ford...
That's a shame. The Scanguage 2 is one of my favorite electronic devices, in general.
Essentially, it's perfect from every perspective. I see very few products I can't criticize, but this is one of them.
I had a 2002 single cab a few years ago. It was actually pretty fun to drive, and the climate control would freeze you right out of it. Turn on the A/C, though, and there goes half your power. 🤣
Mechanically it seems fine, and the interior is fine for the price, with only a few creaky areas on the door panel, which all American cars seem to have. There are some engineering mistakes, but only one is offensive; and that's the exposed, flimsy sensors on the trailing arms. That's just...
It happens parked, as well, and on various roads, in my experience.
It's easy for people to dump on someone who's angry with their vehicle and/or Ford, in general; but when this starts happening, it's absolutely unacceptable, and it doesn't seem to matter how many trouble free miles someone's...
If it was at 8 volts, your truck more than likely wouldn't start, and might not even try to.
Likewise, I am unaware of any consumer grade 18V automotive batteries or charging systems.
That all sounds very strange, to me.
I've seen them cut open several times after using Filtermag products. A hell of a lot was trapped, but I'm not sure how much would have made it through.
Those magnets are extremely powerful.
