They can still be used as running boards which was still my main purpose. I just wanted them closer to the body. As I said before I live on a gravel road and they still serve to block my lower doors from getting dinged up. My truck, my choice.
I have the factory running boards on my Lariat but didn't like how low they hung down. I had a friend cut out 2" from the mounts and weld them back together. I think they look much better. They now tuck up tighter to the bottom of the body. Everything bolted back together with no misalignment...

All, I have a 24 Lariat. Just wanting to know something. I thought the rear turn lamps and backup bulbs were LED. I found out today they are not. Did Ford change over to incandescent bulbs in all the Rangers? My 19 XLT had LEDs from the factory for the rear signals and backup bulbs.
They came with new fasteners. I used them and just kept the old ones since they just unscrewed and popped out. Use a stubby Phillip screwdriver and and leave the wheels straight and no problem installing them.
