Sounds like a fun trip., and you look well-prepared.
Let us know how much you end up spending on gas. I drove from Chicago to southern Tennessee and it cost me $120 one way.
It's your choice, but I can't imagine anyone buying that harness when you can buy a wireless Echo trailer brake controller. https://www.curtmfg.com/part/51180
Maybe people that want a bad headache will buy the harness
I use a wireless brake controller. It saves a lot of time screwing around and you control it from your phone. I used it when I had my Jeep Grand Cherokee and now with my Ranger

It's $289 at Napa Auto Parts...
Driving from Illinois to Tennessee, I heard a woman on the radio say something I wish Ford would have heard. She said, "I'm getting rid of my Bronco, too many recalls. It's starting to scare me".
Some how my phone number and email has been sold by somebody to all these extended warranty companies and I get emails and text messages to extend my warranty on my Ranger.

This guy claims Ford is selling his driving data to to his insurance company, so they can raise his rate

My module took the trailer update.
I'm guessing the reason why Ford told us...
I tow a Forest River 192 RPod which is similar to your Trailer weight wise. When loaded it doesn't add much weight maybe 100lbs. We don't carry much and leave maybe 7 gallons in the reserve tank in case we use the restroom.
I have just kept my tires at 38lbs which is recommended from the door...
