Well, I don’t know about any of the previous versions of the 2.3, but I am just saying that my new ‘25 2.3 XLT feels much stronger than I expected it to!
  2. 2025 Ranger getting the “New” 2.3L Ecoboost w/ direct port injection

My new 2025 Ranger XLT with the new 2.3 motor has so far proven to be much more powerful than I expected. I have been looking for hp/torque comparisons between the ‘24 and ‘25 motors, but I have been unable to find anything like that…

  4. After a year of ownership, Edmunds still prefers Ranger over Colorado and Tacoma

I just picked up my 2025 Ranger XLT 2.3 two days ago. Coming from a 2013 Tacoma 4.0 V6, I am very happy with the Ford Ecoboost 2.3! I hated the seats in my Tacoma. They felt like they had a hole in the middle, and my butt sank down way too far. The Ranger seats are better in that regard, but I...

This news makes me happy that I did not buy a left over ‘24, although that could have saved me a significant amount of money. I should be picking up my new 2025 Ranger XLT with the new 2.3 this week, so I am excited about this new engine revision. I hope that it proves to be powerful and reliable!

  8. New member, new Ranger

Wow! Lots of great input here! Thank you all! My 2025 Ranger XLT will be white and have the FX4 and the tech packages. I almost bought a black FX4 with the “black out” and advanced towing packages - but when I discovered that it did not have adaptive cruise control, I opted out of it. The...

That is great to hear that the 2.3 is a great engine! It felt peppy when I test drive it. I have been reading that it is important to change the oil at 5,000 mile intervals with Ford Ecoboost engines, so I intend to do that.
  10. New member, new Ranger

Thank you. In regards to the V-6, a review on Edmunds read: “You can also stick with the Ranger's base four-cylinder engine. We tested the Ranger's available V6 and didn't find that it made any appreciable gains in performance.” I am in my mid-60’s and, after test driving a 2.3, I just didn’t...
