Love the Coopers Discoverer R and T A/T 255/70/18 116T. 3 mountain peak tires. Quiet on the road and good traction on snow and ice. 1.5 lift in front and 1 in rear.
I keep my atlas behind the rear seat with other important items. Also like old county maps. They have info the new maps don't have. I'm planning another trip to the Owyhee this summer.
Might start a thread on that later.
Eastern Oregon has a lot of no cell service, so cell phones don't work. If your cell phone has satellite it might work. I know you can text, don't know if GPS works.
I took out there on a rafting trip a few years ago! Was a great float with good friends. Did you like the road from Flora? Most of Oregon is pump your gas now.
Have you been to Dug Bar? That is an awesome road through the deep canyons. How about the Owyhee country? That is my favorite area.

Our cool Rangers will even tell you when there is not enough fuel to get to a gas station. I got this warning a couple times in remote areas this summer. Wife got excited and I said there is nothing to worry about. The GPS didn't know where we were going. Never trust GPS in the back country...
Most of my 4L driving is in 4th or 5th gear. Some times 6th. You really have to be easy on the throttle or it will shift hard. Have driven about 150 miles in low range so far. Most of the time I use manual mode with or without rear locker. Don't like or use the other driving modes. When it's...
Was driving around the ranch and had to stop and remove brush and tumbleweeds wrapped around the driveshaft. Has anyone made a guard to address this problem? It might be back to the shop for another mod!
Is that the bumper you have to remove the trailer hitch? That is not an option. I have built bumpers and this looks like a very difficult job to do at the shop without specialized equipment. For now will make skid plates to protect the stock bumper. Will go out and take some pics of the trans...
Was out driving around my friends ranch and dragged the rear bumper. Didn't think to much of it at the time because I was just crawling very slow. Rock hit to the right side of the trailer hitch and bent the hell of bumper. Could not even lower the tail gate. Well, back to the shop! Found out...
Turbos are hell on oil. The oil doesn't go bad it just gets dirty. Have taken hundreds of engines apart
and very few where clean inside. I use Mobil 1 and change every 5000 miles. I don't care about time.
