I had asked my dealer to remove the bedliner, but it looks like that never actually happened.
It might say "Built" if I refresh the page 1000 more times.
My blend date was today, if I'm looking in the right place. (the sticker)
Originally 3/18 and got pushed to 3/25. Been marked "In Production" since late last week.
Nope, mine has held steady since it got scheduled with that big burst of raptor scheduling awhile ago.
However, my dealerships address disappeared at some point. And it shows 6/26/23 as my order date even though I'm 100% certain the paperwork in my hand says 5/26/23.
I feel like bailing now is waiting nearly a year for nothing.
At least in your case though, I guess you can look at it as having waited 2 years for what you really wanted all along.
Honestly my biggest fear in this waiting game has been the thought of waiting over a year to buy a truck just to end up in a situation like yours.
I wish you the best and hope you get your truck. If they screw you, make sure to name them. Make it known that people should avoid their business.
I have similar feelings here. My dad has had a couple of Dakotas since I was a teenager. Whether helping him or borrowing it for myself, we've always made it work.
As long as reliability holds up, I'm intending to keep my truck for at least 10 years. I'm betting that by time I'm looking for...
I've considered the same thing, but I get lots of snow and some of the roads in PA might as well be "off roading" anyway.
If you go through with it, make sure to post a followup. I'd be interested in how it handles and any improvement to highway mileage.
At this point your two most likely possibilities are:
1. find one on a dealer lot, get it in 3-6 months
2. wait to order a 2025 (or try to get a 2024 and get rolled into 2025 anyway), get it sometime next year
Because it is a new and limited vehicle, the dealer stock is probably going to be...
I ordered 5/26/23 (even though Ford is now showing it as 6/26/23... weird). I share a build week with somebody who ordered a month ago. (both RR)
As customers we assume it's going to be FIFO, but there's got to be a lot more going on behind the curtain. Options, distribution logistics, dealer...
Even my 4 wheeler needs the tailgate down in a 5ft bed. I find loading/unloading with a trailer easier, and more options to tie it down good.
I'd have a chuckle if I saw for example Yellowstoner's pic from that thread going down the road, but I'm sure it's fine. More power to you guys if you...
I was imagining, maybe 10 years from now, in the dead of winter... My truck not starting back up at a stoplight as people honk their horns and blow by me on the shoulder, flipping me the bird.
I'm perfectly happy not to have it.
