We may only be delayed by a few months (so far) but that doesn't negate that people have been waiting and anticipating for longer. The lack of clear communication, transparency and realistic expectations from Ford hurts that much more when you started shopping a year ago without an end in sight...
I don't think anyone's saying Ford doesn't want to sell us our trucks, just that their priorities are elsewhere. They want to keep the market share they have in full size with higher margins rather than fight for more market share in mid size with lower margins.
Like I've said before and others...
If they responded, you would just get corporate doublespeak.
Any vehicle you buy new now is a computer on wheels that's probably collecting data on you in one way or another.
Unless you plan on ditching that convenient smartphone anytime soon, there's no escaping it.
Putting a small trailer on my fiancé's Crosstrek has been enough for us to get by. It'll handle a bit of plywood and drywall. But I'm with you on this one, a lot of "truck stuff" is piling up while I wait.
I think it's fair to call some of the posts he's referenced "embarrassing", if not quite "crying". The less they've actually waited and the nicer/newer what they already drive, the more upset they seem to be when they go on about the Tacoma or something else they're going to get instead.
If I'm...
It's unfortunate, but I think rather than a means to chip away at Toyota's dominance in the mid-size category, Ford views every ranger sold as a lost opportunity to sell an F150.
I like the seats but I agree the vents and steering wheel are a bit much. Most people probably like the accents though, so I'm gonna guess DIY project.
Rather than grow on you, you'll probably just stop noticing them. My parents have a Subaru Forester Sport which has the same thing about orange...
I think the lack of fanfare is due to lesser margins. Seems like smaller trucks are just seen as a way to get people in the door to try and upsell them on a full size truck.
One salesman even tried to tell me the 5g Ranger would have trouble with a 500 pound ATV, so I'd better get an F150 off...
It does look nice, but I can have a liner done later.
Now with 0 options, I don't have to think about any of them potentially being a hang-up. Even if it probably won't be.
I just reached out to my dealer to have it removed.
This is part of why I'm here on the forums - I never would have really thought about it until it became an issue.
I'm against it on principle, but a few grand for the top trim is not that excessive.
I don't think anyone should pay a 10 or 20k markup even if they can afford it.
Maybe they mean the raptor trim level itself? I'm pretty sure most of us with RR orders don't have a build date yet. I don't think they'd know for sure they won't have the beadlocks or the bedliner until sometime closer to when they would actually have more raptors on the schedule.
If it helps...
My first thought as well. It seems silly for a ~$60k vehicle to skimp on a little LED.
As for the cupholders? I can't decide if they're cool or tacky. For us the ones in the door are usually just somewhere to put our empty cans for the rest of the drive anyway.
I ordered velocity blue.
I wish that it came in a darker gray than the ones available. Something similar to or darker than the Tacoma's "Magnetic Gray Metallic".
Same here. I've never owned my own truck, so no brand loyalty or fanboying from me. Honestly, until I took a serious look at the 5G Ranger I didn't expect to be going with Ford.
I do wonder what I might consider buying if something with my Ranger order fell through or I finally lost patience...
Aside from striking while others are not, I'd be upset to still be striking for the sake of the union wanting to expand to represent workers in positions that don't exist yet. (The battery plants)
I'm far from an expert on these things, but surely most/all of what will probably be in the final...
Stories about the Bronco debacle like above almost kept me from considering Ford, but I am seeing this as an opportunity to save.
My only concern is getting rolled into a 2025 order if things really don't go well. Considering I tried and failed to order a '23 in February, that might make me...
No offense intended to those who can afford it, but I've noticed from the profiles that a lot of the people who are getting fed up with waiting are folks who appear pretty well off and already have nice vehicles.
(And yes, I would hope someone buying an RR would NOT be someone stretching their...
