i notice this also. i also have a notoriously tight left hip. so it’s mostly that. (two tacoma and two rangers, same issue)
the issue of the “falling in hole” thing is noticeable. part of what i found is the back of the seat pad compresses too much into the springs, this also causes the bolster...
i think it’s around 50, based on shipping weight.
i wish i went full length with the 1515, but at 47” it was 16 bucks to ship. at 58” it was 56 bucks to ship.
basically i made two spacers out of 1530, opened the holes to 5/16.
front spacers are 7/8, ones by the rear are 3/4. i haven’t done the middle set, haven’t felt it’s needed, but i may. those spacers are 13/16.
i want to make some fancy end caps for the extrusion now
it will work with a (between the rail) tonneau right now, i just gotta get rid of my clamp on top from my 2020 and get one.
so i redesigned a bit. saw some improvement to be made. pics will come when the parts come in. basically now you will be able to pop the towers off quick and mount where...
oh i’m still buying them! hahaha i don’t trust the dealer. but- the big question remains- what is their definition of extreme offroad use? ford needs to better about this.
i talked to my dealer about all this- since i put bed bars on and in tossing the tent on shortly for some winter camping. the recall says “extreme offroad use” but ford doesn’t describe what that is. dealer told me screw it and just run it, because it’s not in the manual that braces are needed...
send cut send doesn’t work that way. i may be selling the towers in a few weeks, but i have some tweaks to make.
I have a bit of time figuring this out and while this was cheaper than an off the shelf rack, it was still almost 300 in materials. (hardware,8020, and the laser cut parts)
the towers...
basically. braces under the bed, braces under the bed caps…they dropped the ball.
if these work they way i want, i might sell a few sets of towers. no crossbars, or hardware. just raw steel plates and towers.
if this works, i’ll probably design a taller version
the molding on the beds float on top and inside, so nothing to clamp to of actual substance.
on top- a spacer is needed to actually carry the load, and unfortunately that means there are only 3 spots bed bars/racks, can mount. unless it’s...
i’ve been looking for bed bars for a while, and none of them take into consideration that our beds are way different than the 5th gen’s.
billie bars is aware and working on some things, so that’s good!
In the mean time. i’m doing my own thing.
the uk rangers have bed bars that go in the stake...
