I knew about the dongle which could solve the power issue but the other issue is fitment in the NA Ranger, working on a solution for that now. The Fitcamx seems to be a great option as it won't be so visible to thieves when parked somewhere.
I sent an email to them and they are requesting the part number off my mirror surround and pics of all my connectors. I just finished pulling the surround and sending them pics. Will post info as I receive it.
My understanding of the bypass is that is opens often. It needs to in order for oil pressure to be maintained. It opens on cold starts because the oil is thick and the pressure pushes past the bypass, it opens when you goose the throttle. Contrary to popular belief that it is only there in case...
Take a look at your upper control arm, it barely clears the stock wheel and tire. For 285s you would need wheel spacers or a different offset wheel. Have you thought about some taller tires but staying with 255 or 265s? Or are you more after appearance vs functionality?
Actually instead of a suspended tray I'd be happy with just an organizer or a mat that sits all the way on the bottom, just to keep stuff from rolling around and rattling in there.
Will the hidden organizer work with the armrest cover or do the straps that hold the armrest cover in place get in the way of opening the hidden compartment?
Thanks, I'm glad I asked, I hadn't searched a 255/75, There are a ton of C1 options in that size and I like staying with the same width. I searched a 245/75 and no C1 at all, just XL and E. The weight of around 42 lbs I can live with. At only 32" they should fit a truck with stock suspension.
On the steering wheel buttons select "Off-Road" from the main menu, then select the sub menu "Vehicle Gauges". You should get boost, oil pressure and transmission temperature.
All of this is described for all variations starting on page 114 of your pdf manual
Looking to order the adapter, Amazon doesn't seem to have the kit with both the 3 pin and 5 pin, they have a 3 pin kit that says 2019 and up Ranger but that can't be right. Looking at the Dongar site they offer 2 kits, looks like one is a 5 pin and the other includes both a 5 pin and a 3 pin...
It's in the sidewall construction, the sidewall of SL tires is weaker and thinner for ride comfort but doesn't hold up well to contact offroad. They may also suffer more flexing damage from airing down but I don't know that for sure.
I don't feel comfortable going into some of the rocky terrain around here with an SL tire. I can get the Cooper Discoverer ATP II in XL. There are a number of C1 tires available but they start to get heavy, like 50+ lbs.
the OEM 255/70-R17s are SL load range tires. Many of the tires I look at in a 255, 265 and even a 245 are load range E. Is anyone considering the differences between SL, C, D and E? I am thinking an E rated tire might offer a stiffer ride and poorer cornering? 🤷‍♂️ Pretty sure SL tires are put...
I ran Cooper Discoverer AT3s on my Superduty, was very happy with them and will likely put them on my Ranger if they are available when the time comes. I will probably go to a 265/70-R17.
