The biggest issue to me is leaving visible valuables in your vehicle when parked somewhere and I'm not going to be removing the dash cam all the time. They say thieves even look for the telltale suction cup mark on the glass which tells them there is probably something stashed in the console...
Leaving the hood up works. They like that warm, dark cave on top of the engine, once you lift the roof off they have zero interest in setting up camp there.
Had to be some sort of critter? I was looking at all the electrical connectors on my engine the other day and wondering if I should ever attempt to wash it.
Get her one of these and put a seat cover over it. I can attest that is works very well, and heats up in seconds. I used it on my TDI which took forever to warm up. I didn't even put a seat cover over it. The only drawback is the power socket on the Ranger is inside the console but you can add...
So can anyone verify if all 6th gen Rangers have the 5 pin connector? Fitcamx is waiting on this info so they can proceed with a camera kit to fit our 6th gen trucks.
I successfully eliminated the chime while door open/engine running, then I went into "as built" and configured the seat belts per @daytoncarter and all works. I see you still get the popup in the cluster till you latch your belt but then it goes away without having to push "OK".
I also enabled...
Any confirmation yet if
Remove all seatbelt warnings and chimes (including OK button)
affects air bags or not?
edit: I just read @daytoncarter 's post and will give that a try. Just got set up so I'm going to try some simple stuff first though, like the door open while engine running...
Looks like they are actively working on a solution for the trucks without rain sensors. I asked them why the camera could not be powered by the 5 pin connector and they got with their technicians and set up a 5 pin connector which they say will work. They emailed me back and asked if all of the...
Thanks, I already downloaded Forscan and ordered the OBDLink adapter. Will start with the 2 month free upgrade.
Do they allow you to install on more than 1 device per license?
oops I see only 1 device per license. I guess if I upgrade devices I'll buy another license, they don't cost much.
I just dug out the Fusion I bought in 2020 and fired it up.After a Chrome update it seems to be OK. Speed is not up to what it is on my desktop but maybe because the desktop is wired. I also have the keyboard attachment. Think it will work OK with Forscan? 6GB RAM 256GB. WIN 10. The keyboard...
Thanks, my plan is to go with the complete licensed edition. I went with Lite when it first came out because if I recall it was the best edition at the time to use with Android.
I have an old version of Forscan on an old Android tablet that I used on my 2002 Superduty with an OBDLink MX ELM 327 BT adapter, have not tried it on the Ranger. It worked OK on the 2002 with occasional crashes. I think it's just Forscan Lite though.
What is the best setup? A windows laptop...
They just replied that they will have a camera that fits my surround at the end of this month, however they also said their camera cannot be powered by USB, only by the rain sensor connector, the fuse box or the OBD. I am betting that there is a way to do it for someone who knows this stuff...
Thanks for the heads up, I have wondered about that since we have some Chevron stations that have unbelievably low prices. These are older stations that were recently bought by individuals, remodeled and re-opened with Chevron signage. I'll be looking for that logo.
PS you can go to the Top...
