With my Shadow Black Raptor blended and awaiting transport since March 12th, I figured I'd head over to the NYIAS to see the baby Raptor in person and sit in it. I figured testing it out made sense before a 13hr drive north to pick it up from my chosen Michigan dealer.
Exterior Thoughts:
I...
Similar boat. Order placed 5/27 by my dealer that is less than 3hrs from the plant.
Blend date of 3/12, pizza tracker still says "In Production" and my dealer confirmed it is built and sitting in a QC hold. It is sitting in Canton, MI as of 3/26.
It is all puzzling. I work in the industry for...
In Production on the pizza-tracker, Ford Marketing says it's built but on QC hold.
Ship date originally scheduled for 3/22. Will be rescheduled once QC hold lifts.
I called Ford Marketing and they were able to tell me that my truck is complete, but in a QC hold.
Delivery date won't update until QC hold is released. It has been in QC hold for a week so far. I am hoping for a release sometime this week, but Marketing doesn't have further insight.
I'll have a 1,300mile trip back home once I pick mine up (MI to NY)...I'm guessing you would recommend similar RPM procedure at various points throughout the drive, followed by an oil change once I get home?
you would be severely disappointed by a lot of new vehicles then ? 50miles is virtually nothing, and between moving the truck from the plant, to the lot, to the delivery truck, to the next lot, etc etc…miles add up quickly. I’d be shocked if their doing any sort of joy ride.
Within any of these large OEMs, there are so many legal hurdles for anything comms related, simply because there always someone looking for a handout and wanting to sue for the silliest of reasons. I agree, it would be nice, but there are comms & legal teams for a reason. And broadly speaking...
I was using that as an example, not calling you out. No nerve struck  It's more highlighting that there's plenty that happens that the wider public shouldn't know.
It is far more nuanced that you're making it seem. For every iteration of a given model, the US requires crash testing. That R&D cost is in the millions. It isn't simply lost sales internally vs. sales gained in conquest, that was just an example. US regs are very different than ROW...just look...
You sort of answered your own question. Ford dominates one segment, thus leading competitors to choose another avenue and to focus elsewhere. Similarly, Ford recognizes Toyota’s dominance in the mid-size segment, acknowledges they need to play, but not own it. More comprehensive offerings would...
If Ford was even more transparent about these type of issues, the auto media & enthusiasts would have a field day and would blame quality control, a host of other non-sensical and non-related issues, and inevitably Ford's stock price would take a hit.
If true, the paint adhesion could have been...
What would this constitute, exactly? What is enough for me (all of which we've already been privy to) evidently is not enough for you. What else/more are you interested in? And what is enough for you, may not be enough for someone else. It's a slippery slope, wrought with legal liabilities on...
anything brand sponsored is likely to be underwhelming. Give it 6mo for the independent channels to receive their long-term-testers…then we’ll get something of substance.
Here’s a thought: maybe, JUST MAYBE, the configuration of the new Ranger is EXACTLY what some buyers want? It isn’t what you wanted, congrats, you found that elsewhere…and owning 65 past Fords is irrelevant. I’ve owned VWs, Pontiacs, BMWs, Hondas and Toyotas. How does that factor into anything?
