You are right, for some reason the '24 isn't flat towable.
But in all cases, only 4x4s are flat towable because it's the transfer case that's being put into neutral.
Manual says:
Recreationally Towing Your Vehicle - 4x2
You cannot recreational tow your vehicle with all wheels on the ground...
IMO, it's best that the failure was early, and not some latent problem that would show up later, like after the OEM warranty was up. If it had failed later, say 30K miles, you would be getting a rebuilt, or having that one repaired. I haven't seen too many failures (yet) for the 10R60.
That looks like a lot of fun. One day I'll take my FX4 for a trail ride, but I don't want anything too aggressive, just dirt/mud/sand trails. I'm a novice and don't want any rock crawling.
I always thought these offroad parks were expensive. $45 for a weekend pass here is a steal.
Even the more expensive Truxedo I had on my '21 didn't seal well on the tailgate. But any water that did seep in, just ran down the gate and out through the gap at the bottom. On the 6G, it harder to seal on the rails due to the 'stake pockets'.
It is my understanding that OTA updates are for SYNC4 updates, not vehicle ECM/PCM updates.
Otherwise, why would someone have to have Ford do updates for brake or back-up camera issues if it could be done OTA? But you can check the update info to see what was done.

It looks like you have one of those plastic drop in liners. I think that's what you are seeing, and that doesn't represent the 'true form' of the metal bed itself. If that is true, there are places behind it that accepts anchors. They have threaded holes to attach something like seen here:
Those quoting 2-4 hours probably never did it, and just because Ford allows a charge of 2 hours, doesn't mean it will take that long.
As others said, I'll wait a few weeks so that the techs can get to know the process.
A couple of other threads on this. Someone said it takes about 15 minutes for them to fix.

Are you planning on flat towing your Ranger behind an RV?
Only 2025+ 4x4 has the option to Flat Tow by putting the transfer case in neutral.
AFAIK, others will have to have the drive shaft disconnected. Else you get this:
2019 ford ranger burned to the groud during flat towing | 2019+ Ford...
Doesn't hurt to ask (forcefully).
Did the Shelby story happen to you?
Kinda like wanting the first run of Ranger Raptors, then fine that dealers added a $10,000 ADM.
Do you really think they will cut a deal on the Pro-Cal just because you have warranty/recall work to be done? And if they say no, will you then not get the recall done?
I think you will be sadly disappointed.
I had one that screwed from under hood had had rubber bumpers. After MANY years of driving the vibration caused the rubber nubs to wear into the paint, and eventually the screw vibrated loose.
I rather the AeroSkin that tapes to the hood with 3M tape. No movement, and it's never coming off.
