Your gaps look abnormally large

Decal comes off scary easy probably because it's new. A couple minutes with a heat gun on low about 8 inches off in a sweeping back and forth motion. It will peel right off leaving no residue behind. Or if you live in TX or FL leave it outside all day and no heat gun needed

From my understanding and watching AUS reviews there is no sound dampening material above the roof liner from the factory. It's a common mod Aussies did when adding a roof rack due to having the roof liner down at that time. Adding it does seem to make a big difference
