I'm 6'3" 220 lbs and I tend to just step over the running board because it's so high that if I step on it I'm towering over the door opening.
Anyone tried something like this?
Personally not a fan, especially since it is totally useless, and reminds me of the old Nissan Frontiers but at least theirs was functional. It's like the guys that put a rear spoiler on a Subaru.
What happens when someone inherits that and thinks they can use it to hold stuff on the highway?
Ratings can be ambiguous. There can be continuous ratings and peak ratings. There is also the voltage to consider, is it rated at 12 volts or 13.5 volts? Additionally I'm not sure if there is any authority regulating this or if a manufacturer can just claim a number. In reality 15 amps is a...
I use a Bedrug and these: https://www.ebay.com/itm/317951346706 I actually picked up a bunch of Endura products on clearance and put the rugs down over the Bedrug but I don't like their dividers as much as the ones I linked. I use all of this in my Jeep too.
I first learned of this system when...
It's tucked up along the frame rail and it's not visible behind the blank in the bed. If you have neither the 120 volt or the 12 volt plug your connector will be plugged with an empty connector. You can either remove the empty connector and order some pins to add your wires or just order this...
Maybe they will do the same thing they did for the leaking brake switch recall a few years back and just install a fusible link in the harness in case it shorts out.
I don't really think it will be an issue, it's up pretty high and the wheel liner keeps the splash away from that area. Plus I live in a dry climate with little rain and no snow. I've had the truck since October and it's only been driven in the rain once. If anything does happen to it I'll just...
Yes it was and there has been much discussion about it here. There are a couple kits to seal it, I went with the rather pricey one form Digital Twin Development in Australia and very pleased with it. Someone recently mentioned they may not be shipping due to the tariffs but that may depend on...
On the Superduty trucks a common improvement was to put 1/4" latex tubing inside the existing door seals.
My 2002 Superduty diesel was a very quiet truck with limo size seating, the 6" thick doors were solid and closed like an old Kelvinator. Yes my Ranger is quiet but I wouldn't say it's as...
I'm thinking it might be good for the beach where I go in Mexico where it can be very dark at night. On my Jeep I mounted four 6" LEDS, 2 pointing straight ahead and 2 angled to the sides. Keeps me from accidentally driving into the ocean :giggle: Where did you put the switch?
It's not hard to reset the TCM on most vehicles, the Ranger included. It erases the "learned" adaptation and forces it to start fresh. There is no reason a dealership would not do this, it's too easy and costs them practically nothing.
Sometimes you can train it to adapt differently by changing...
I received the letter yesterday also, but a few days ago when I started the truck there was a message that there had been a software update and I thought it said something pertaining to the trailer tow but now I'm not sure, guess I'll call the dealer to find out. Is there a way to go in and look...
Don't worry, the Scanstrut is a superior 12 volt socket. Mine works perfectly and the door locks open or can be used as a plug retainer. Best 12 volt socket I've used, you can tell right away by the feel.
If it was internal to the transmission it's likely the valve body or the solenoid pack, if external likely the transmission control module (TCM). I'd be asking them which one they "overhauled".
