I also have a late 2025 XLT (and my name is Brian too) but are you saying your truck automatically engages the parking brake from the factory and you didn't add anything?
Did you try pressing the AC button on the far right knob? On mine that kills the AC and I can run fan only, however if I select "AUTO" when the HVAC is on the AC will come back on if the temperature is higher than the setpoint. If I just adjust the fan speeds manually with the push buttons the...
Has anyone done it in a non-Raptor 4x4 Ranger without damage? Last year I did it in a Jeep TJ and I recall a couple spots that were pretty sketchy and some pretty tight hairpins, would like to try it in the Ranger. The ground clearance is about the same but the length and departure angle on the...
The putty works but takes patience as it is hard to shape and doesn't really get very soft when you knead it, but if you have patience and strong fingers you can completely cover those 2 holes and it sticks good.
With the ARE topper that the OP has I don't think the bed rails are going to leak. I also have an ARE, the sides of the ARE completely cover the bed rails plus they hang down quite a ways on the outside edge, below the bottom of the bed rails (the bed rails are not even visible).
The biggest...
I think 5K is a good interval for most. There is information out there that changing oil too frequently is not ideal either as the most wear happens when the oil is new and the detergent package is at work. Recommendations from knowledgeable 3rd parties seem to favor 5K over the factory...
As a car guy, yes I think about them a lot. I even have reoccurring dreams, they're always at my Mom's house where I grew up in my teen years, and it had a big concrete driveway and a 2 car carport so in the dream I'm always out there with some of my early cars like the 1965 3/4 ton Dodge truck...
Sorry, I don't. When I got the Ranger I cut it up and kept the useable 2x2 sections. I made a crude sketch below to show how I made it. It would slide right into the front hitch and I had a couple threaded holes in the receiver so I could tighten two 3/8" bolts into it to keep it solid. I added...
I've always been a hub centric guy. Even if you don't have balance/vibration issues what about the weight and constant hammering abuse that will be put on the studs now, instead of on the axle end? Maybe I'm over cautious having only owned heavy duty trucks that were for working and hauling...
I've never thought of that. A small battery bank would be great to run a small 12V cooler when the engine is off. Have you looked at any of the new solid state batteries?
Are your drive cycles long enough to fully charge the battery? I would start by putting a charger on it for 24 hours (not a trickle charger but a good 6-10 amp charger) so you'll have a starting point. Could be that your battery hasn't been allowed to fully charge and if you are driving short...
Locking caps can be a 2 edged sword. They can prevent theft and prevent vandals from putting something in your tank. On the flip side, gas thieves have been known to drill the bottom of the tank when the cap is locked. This is usually on higher clearance vehicles like trucks and vans. A few...
