I found it difficult to remove and definitely had to disconnect sensor wire.
Replacing cover was also a challenge getting tabs fully seated so clamps could snap shut.
Hoping second time will go better…
I have some slack on driver’s side as well. It goes away when I place any weight on the tailgate. I believe this is due to the torsion bar. I suppose this could be tested by unhooking the torsion bar to confirm.

I see you have added an extension to your valve stem to be able to check pressure in spare without dropping it. If you install the spare protector, please share your approach for routing extension hose. Probably not that complicated, but I appreciate learning from...
Congratulations! I recommend a spray in bedliner, but be sure to plug the threaded holes and maybe mask the tie downs. Wish I had gone the bed rug route instead of rubber mat (hard to slide anything in).

They were standard, at least on Raptors. Can’t speak to other models.
Did the dealer do any kind of a bedliner? Might have been removed for that.
I can tell you the bolts were brutal to remove due to lock tight on threads and spray in bedliner material in torx heads.

I’ve been very happy with it. You are not kidding, storage space is very limited. Also went with Ford swing out storage on passenger side over wheel arch. Plenty of posts on installation, especially if you have spray in bed liner.
