I was going to just install a new 12v connection in the bed that goes to the auxiliary battery rather than the onboard battery. That way the truck can be off entirely and it just keeps running. No risk of draining the primary
I have not seen an option with the 3.0 to mount it in the hood area. There are some options to mount one between the rear wheel well and tail light (I've seen some videos of Aussies doing this, at least), but it looks a bit sketchy to me.
I'm also interested in this for similar reasons. Mostly...
Not bad. 30 minutes to an hour
Remove 4 screws, back out the light disconnect the cable, pull the very back of the headliner (not as bad as it sounds), replace the pigtail connector, reconnect it to the new light, and then wipe down the install service and put it into place.
Probably the best...
Yeah, I can definitely see it working well. Perhaps with some extra tweaking and in my case, swapping the unit out with one that stays powered on. Not trying to knock the platform or technology, it's definitely pretty cool. Just wish there was a way I could adjust the hands-on nag without...

If you read the reviews you'll see that it fits the '24 / '25 perfectly. That was my experience as well
I disconnected and returned my Comma 3X. I think that Open Pilot is an awesome project but I’m not seeing the $1k worth of value / performance that it offers, at least not how it is today.
* Lane tracing performance was fine. Maybe on par with my stock Volvo system
* I tried both SunnyPilot...
Just have this close up comparison. I’ll try to take more later
Very happy with it though. Very bright and sleek. Morimoto gear is pretty high quality so I’m expecting it to last the life of the truck
I got this one:

I much prefer the matte screen protectors for cars. Reduces glare from the sun and it's harder for finger prints to show up. No difference at all in responsiveness. Very happy with it.
I did have a couple of bubbles I couldn't get out during the...
* Installed a single-valve UPR catch can
* Replaced the 3rd brake light with a unit from Morimoto. Much brighter and targeted light in the bed. Very happy with it, as the old one looks like it was a Ford parts bin special from 10 years ago
* ONR rinseless wash
We're now expecting a 9-10% increase in cost for the light vehicle market. This is the market as a whole, not just imports. This cost would be by the end of '25, not averaged throughout the year.
We expect similar cost increases in '26 and '27, though not as severe.
Some suppliers threaten to...
Are you able to flip your visor down and not have it interfere with your radar detector?
I have a Uniden R7 that I'd like to tap, but a blendmount would likely interfere with my Comma 3X. Moving it way up like this could make sense if it fit
Are you running a tonneau cover with that yakima rack?
I picked up the Morimoto 3rd brake light (haven't installed it yet) but this looks like a good option too, just damn expensive lol
Installed a Comma 3X. Holy hell I was not prepared mentally for what a pain in the ass that was. I hate pulling interior trim. I'll probably have bruises on my fingertips trying to deal with the wiring harness
Update:
Took the dash apart again and saw that the USB extension cable had slipped out of position on the wiring harness. Plugged it back in, reassembled, and I think we're good.
I drove around on the sunnypilot dev branch and it seemed to work well around town. Haven't given it any highway...
