Be sure to let us know what you find out. I have not taken mine in yet. I live 40 minutes from the dealership so it's a pain to go all the way down there.
I still have the harsh downshifts, but nothing as harsh as the one that prompted me to post this thread.
And I agree with some others...
I have this same issue that seems to have started as the weather started turning cold... I posted my own thread here: (24) Hard Downshifts When Stopping | Ranger6G - 2024+ Ranger & Raptor Forum, News, Owners, Community (6th Gen)
Hi Everyone,
I have had my XLT FX4 2.3L since May of 2024. I currently have about 1900 miles on it (work from home so don't drive it much).
About a month ago as the weather started getting colder here in CO. I started noticing hard downshifts (I think it's between second and first gear) when...
No rattles of note, but I do have a slight whistling noise around the upper driver's door seal area (basically right by my left ear) at highway speeds. Dealer said they couldn't adjust it.
Not an issue, but more of an observation...
Anyone else seeing this in their truck and think it's odd that it works this way? When changing the fan speed, I can use the physical buttons or the on-screen slider/+ and - buttons to cycle between the fastest and slowest fan speeds. But if I want...
Few questions...
1) I purchased the service plan/extended warranty from Ford when I bought my truck. Will they honor my request for synthetic oil or with they try to push motor craft or something else on me?
2) If I change the oil myself every 5K, but the service plan only allows for 10K...
Still sitting at 21MPG for the first 1100 miles, but I have been driving 99% city on these nasty CO. roads.
I live in COS too! I have only seen 5 other Rangers in town so far, but I did see one exactly like yours a couple of months ago off of Powers and Dublin. Maybe you? lol. I drive a...
I have only seen 5 other 2024 Rangers so far this entire year... 1 Cactus Gray Lariat, 1 White XL (fleet vehicle), 1 White XLT, 1 Azure XLT and 1 green Raptor with bronze wheels (in a Dealer's customer parking lot). I have not even seen another Ranger sitting on my dealer's lot in the 2-3 times...
I have often read that in modern engines, you want to leave the factory oil in for the first 10k because it contains special additives in it that help to properly break in the engine. But, who really knows unless you hear it directly from the engine engineers.
I watched a video the other day where a guy was taking his Ranger Raptor interior apart to sound deaden it. He had to remove the A-pillar interior panels and also wanted to add a grab handle from a foreign market, but said it could not be done because everything on the US Raptor A-pillar...
It's on the steering wheel. Took me a couple of days to find it too! I turned it off on the steering wheel about a month ago and it has not turned on again since!
No Auto-hold for me, but mine "lurches" when I have it parked in the garage and I let off the brake for the first time after putting it in Drive (I back in) to drive out of the garage. The other day it lurched so much that I had the wheels slightly turned and thought I was going to hit the wall...
I don't understand how "modern" wireless charging can work so poorly considering the technology has been around for 14-15ish years now. I actually use my wireless Microsoft charging pad (from my old Windows phone that I got 12 years ago) to charge my iPhone 12 Pro and it is flawless and never...
If so, do you have pics?
Just curious what it looks like without them (preferably on an XLT). I find that they are just in the way because this truck does not sit that high.
Although, they are very good door ding deterrents!
Sorry for your loss. My 80-year-old dad is also going through Lymphoma cancer. He was diagnosed about 2 years ago and is now in remission. But according to doctors, it will return within a couple of years with a vengeance. There was a period of time where he no longer wanted to live due to all...
