They got back to me and said they checked with their ordering expert and the running boards were already added. Bummer. I was hoping that was the hold-up for getting my truck scheduled and that it would have bumped me to the front of the line! :) Oh well... the wait continues!

Got it thanks! I reached out to my dealer. It's so odd... even though they are the largest volume dealer in CO. and have something like 30+ automotive businesses of one sort or another, they just don't seem to be very savvy when it comes to the order process. They hadn't heard about this...

We are talking about running boards here and not the back of bed integrated steps correct? So Ford will not automatically add the required running boards to my order but rather just let it sit in limbo?

If I recall correctly, my dealer told me I would not get a VIN number until my order was scheduled. Is that not the case? I could potentially get a VIN before they put me in the schedule?

I placed my order on July 5th. Just received my 45-day generic supply constraints e-mail from Ford yesterday. Not scheduled yet.

Lol... I get that! I sold my last truck 4 years ago and we have been down to a single car since then. My wife's Q5 has almost 150k on it and it's having a LOT of issues. It's time for a second (NEW) vehicle!

Thanks for the input! I heard Sept. 14th too. The odd thing is that they told me they won't have an order confirmation for me until Ford starts scheduling. Kinda confusing. Also, I don't have a Maverick. This is my first order ever. In fact, I am truckless at the moment.

I don't understand why they would have low allocation. They are THE largest independent dealer in CO. with multiple stores and huge volume. Thank you for the great advice. I will start looking around at other dealers to see what my options are!

Here is the reply I got after asking about the "allocation" comment they made before: "Your order is already entered, but the dealer must have allocation before the vehicle will be assigned a VIN and get a build date. We only have two retail orders in right now, so as soon as Ford starts...

Placed my order for a 2024 XLT yesterday through the dealer. A fully refundable $500 deposit was required. I also got in writing that they will not apply ADM. I am paying MSRP plus taxes and a $698 delivery and handling fee. One question I had... My dealer stated that they don't currently have...

Same question... my dealer is asking me to provide them with a copy of the certificate as they have not heard of this. Is there a certificate number? Can anyone help? Sure would love to save $1000!
