Contact Ford (corporate) to discuss your options. They should be able to help prioritze parts for your dealer and might compensate you for your inconvenience.
They should, although you may need to follow the relearn procedure in your owner's manual. If in doubt, I'm sure Discount Tire (or similar tire store) will do that for you (especially if you have them mount tires to those wheels).
I appreciate all of the input. I found a local auto paint supply store that was really helpful. The owner let me take color samples out to my truck, and he gave me his thoughts as well. I landed on a green that has bronze in it. In fact, it is Citroen Bronze Persan (code LQQ).
I just finished...
I just installed a Lasfit bed mat last weekend (I had a drop in liner that I removed). I don't typically haul things that would roll around, so this should work as-is. I think the lip on the bed mat will be enough for me.
Here's the article I wrote about why I removed the bed liner...
I was looking for something to install on that front rail, but nothing really caught my eye online. I have a bunch of vinyl wrap on hand, so I cut a strip of honeycomb patterned vinyl and applied it today.
I thought about painting it with a texture paint, but this vinyl is reversible.
My truck came with the drop-in bedliner, which I am not crazy about. It has a front panel that covers that front rail. I just took my bedliner out and discovered a number of areas where the bedliner rubbed through the paint. I am going to leave it out, touch up the paint and install a Lasfit...
Thanks, that "view on vehicle" feature is a decent starting point. I have a good paint supply store near me that I am going visit and go through their color samples.
Have any of you purchased or painted wheels a color other than black or gray? I have a Cactus Gray XLT and am pondering different colors for my wheels. I bought a set of take-off Bronco Big Bend wheels and painted one of the pockets an accent color close to Cactus gray, but I am looking for a...
Thanks for that update. The price point seems decent for a hard tonneau, and I've had good luck with @RealTruck in the past. I realize waterproof is not reasonable with these covers. My primary goal is secure storage in the bed.
I've had good luck with paint from AutomotiveTouchup.com. Their color matches excellent and you can get everything from the small bottles to spray cans. It takes a couple of weeks to receive your order as they mix to order.
I do not use the brush that comes with any touchup paint...they are...
I get it. I'm 6'4" and my wife is 5'2". She needs a step to enter while I do not. I removed the factory running boards and installed side steps. It gives my wife the boost she needs while letting me exit without hitting a running board.
As an alternative, you can create your own decal if you have access to a Cricut machine. I didn’t like the factory Sport decal, do made my own variation. I was able to duplicate the font, but changed up the colors.
The funnel should be tucked behind the rear seat. It can be accessed by folding the seat back forward, and is found on the passenger side toward the floor.
I like that look! My truck came with the Ford modular bed liner (plastic). It functions fine, but I prefer the bed mat for the reasons you mentioned. Plus, I like seeing the painted panels. Yes, they are more prone to damage when hauling stuff, but my truck only hauls ass! 😁
I'm curious if you notice any oversteer during high speed cornering? With no load (or a light load) in the bed, I would suspect the addition of a stabilizer bar might cause oversteer.
I worked in sales and serive for General Motors for 32 years. In that time, I got a different company car at least three times per year. In a lot of those vehicles, I experienced dash and/or door panel rattles. I used to drive with a roll of duct tape and a baseball bat in the car (the bat...
