I use the oem filter... and buy it at the dealership, at least until the truck is out of warranty. Since I do my own oil changes that way I have receipts that can be cross checked against number of oil changes. :fingerscrossed:

I've used Silver label Mobil 1 for over 20 years. Still use it in our Jeep and my '27 Ford that has a 5.0 HO roller cam motor. But for our Rangers (that have a turbocharger and direct injection) it isn't the best of the Mobil 1 lineup. Look at the bullet points below... Mobil 1 SIlver Label...

Be careful... those high zinc oils can form deposits. Curious what Amsoil recommends for our Rangers? They have industry leading Noack test scores on their full synthetic... which is very impressive.

:facepalm: Testing shows it's a better oil. It only costs $6 dollars more for a 5 gallon jug.

Go to the Mobil 1 site.... even they don't recommend Mobil 1 Silver label for our trucks. They recommend Mobil 1 Annual Protection. It's better for our direct injected turbo charged engines. https://mobiloil.com/en/product-selector
