Pickup Box Bed Tie Down Hooks and Bolts
Continued from: Where are my missing bed tie down hooks
Got a call from my local Ford Dealer today. The back ordered Bed Hooks and Bolts were ready for pickup.
They wrote it up as a Service Warranty Claim so there was no charge.
Here are the part...
We had planned to get the rear seat delete option but after some thought realized it would hurt the re-sale value of the truck.
First thing I did when we got our truck home was remove the rear headrests and seat bottoms. Also installed some drawer liner material on the access doors.
What...
When your truck says it is out of fuel.... how much fuel is really left?
(Somebody asked this ^^^ question in another thread. I answered it there, and thought I'd post it up here for future reference)
When we picked up our brand spanking shiny new 2019 Ranger SuperCab at the dealership the...
Interestingly enough back when we bought out 2019 Ranger in September the tailgate letters were an accessory you could add on when ordering a truck on the shop.ford.com site. Now on the 2020 Ranger build, they are no longer there?
Drawing of the Door Sill Scuff Plates...
Just in case anybody want's to modify some of these for other applications.... here's a couple drawings and a pdf.
Door Sill Scuff Plates, continued from Post 52
Ended up using some GE 100% clear silicone to attach the scuff plates to the door sill plates. Used blue painters tape to hold them in place... and some duct tap on the end just to make sure they didn't lift up while curing.
Door Sill Scuff Plates, continued from Post 42
Modified the sill plates by using an air die grinder and cut off wheel to remove the rear mounting tabs.

Then used a 4-1/2" angle grinder with a 60 grit flap disc to level...
Thanks.
I've got the money, time and a 2 post lift that would make installing a catch can a piece of cake, but I've also got a 5 year warranty.
Seems like with as many folks as we have here on the Ranger 5g site we should be able to tell over a period of time how much and what the cans are...
Nope. Here's a link to "THE PETROLEUM QUALITY INSTITUTE OF AMERICA" website. Nothing but Motorcraft synthetic blends is listed? https://pqia.org/passenger-car-motor-oil/
2008-2011 Ford Ranger Door Sill Scuff Plates

Ford Logo'd Otter Box Cooler
When we bought our Ranger in mid September 2019 they had a special going where you got a free cooler. It arrived today. It's an "Otter Box", Model Ventur 45.
Wow.. really nice quality and made in the USA. And the "Ford" branding is pretty cool too.
And thanks. But from what I'm seeing, I'm not convinced that this small amount of "junk" in 1100 miles will be an issue. What oil are you running? Do you use 93 octane top tier fuel?
Measurable to the extent that it is a benefit to the end user, a benefit being it prevents future failures or maintenance issues.
i know these cans collect "stuff". The question is would that stuff have been an issue in a 2.3 Ranger engine if the can wasn't there?
