But I thought the catch can was supposed to "catch" the contaminates?
The chart clearly shows nearly zero difference at all on half the valves, so what's the point? It's good information though.
Using the guy in the video's logic, if it does anything at all it's worth doing... and that's just...
Some of the YouTube comments are quite good too...
How much oil could a catch can catch
If a catch can could catch oil?
As much oil as a catch can could catch,
If a catch can could catch oil.
No worries! Thanks for your input. I'll change my data above.
And interestingly enough the Mobil 1 site shows that the Mobil 1 Annual Protection Ultimate Full Synthetic SAE 5W-30 Motor Oil is superior to all their other oils for our turbocharged Ranger motors...
I tried my best to make it fair. As I outlined in the pdf, I called them and they would not provide the information, they all said it was proprietary. That, in itself, is telling, IMHO.
Which Mobil 1 Oil Is Best For Our Ranger?
With all the talk about Direct Injection Gas Engines and related intake valve carbon deposits I wanted to research what oil would work best, yet be cost effective, in our 2019 Ranger.
Ford recommends their Motorcraft SAE 5W-30 Premium Synthetic Blend...
Lumber Rack For SuperCab Bed
Update 2020-02-29: Link to Finished Rack
Finished the CAD model of the bed and created a Lumber Rack design for our SuperCab. Kind of a mortise and tenon design so it's easy to assemble / disassemble.
The rear section. item 4 below, is removable and only really...
CAD Model Of The 6 Ft Bed
Started to create a CAD Solid Model of the bed on my Supercab today.
I've got some projects I want to build, such as a wooden support structure to hold 4' x 8' sheets of lumber and thought having a CAD model would make it easier for me to design the structure.
That's a great addition for hauling stuff. Thanks for posting this.
I had (2) 2x6 cross boards for my '02 Tacoma, it had a factory drop in bed liner with deep molded pockets for 2x6's.
Funny thing is... the drop in bed liners that Ford has as an accessory item, also has molded in pockets for...
Nice truck.... welcome to the club.
I too climbed out of a stick shift and into the Ranger. The Sport mode in the Ranger helps... it's a real smile maker.
Of course it did. :like: You've obviously been down this path before  Thanks for the heads up.
I sanded off the edges of the frame at the top to gain clearance.

Flipping The Spare Tire
I flipped the spare tire today so I could easily access the air valve. From the factory the spare is mounted upside down.
Flipping it doesn't affect ground clearances... I measure before and after, see photo's below. I took lots of photo's so the members here could...
Easily... not really. And then from what I understand there is road noise to contend with. We don't have kids.. or pets.. so for us just leaving them in seems to work well. Our old Tacoma had upholstered flat back seats.. so we're kind of used to them after 17 years.
Rear Storage Cover Tray Liners
Our truck has vinyl flooring, which works great for our lifestyle. But one thing that has bothered me is the covers for the storage bins in the rear of the SuperCab are hard plastic. They are slippery and I know they are going to get all scratched up.
So in an...
