No problems with bed cracking on US 5G models, it's only worldwide 6G. Since people are quick to give credit to the Aussies for a great design, they should be getting nicked for this flaw as well. Still Ford's problem either way.

If it's anything like the 5G, there is no power at the plug UNTIL a trailer is connected to the 7-pin. That's a function of the Trailer Control Module, which is not the same as the Trailer Brake Controller. TCM, handles power and lighting to trailer. TBC controls trailer brakes.

The standard tow package just adds a Class 3 hitch and 7 pin wiring. Adding the hitch yourself will get you to 7,500 lbs., but unless you add it yourself, you won't have the 7pin harness and potential TBC.
