They’re great trucks. I tested one a while back and have been very tempted to go ahead and upgrade. But for now I don’t feel like spending the dough.
Very nice. I live in CO but am not familiar with those roads (pretty far from me). Glad you made good use of the truck.
I’ve been wondering about trying some 4/10 rated trails. Hardest I’ve done yet is 3 in my stock FX4 (though I’ve changed tires).
Truth is, most people pick their car/truck and after-market modifications for the look and coolness factor. I see so many “overland” builds that are always sparkly clean. The wide tires are part of the aggressive look.
There are a million "hammocks" on Amazon, probably all made in the same factory! I bought one that has the hard bottom, so it extends over the foot wells, and it has a couple of velcro pockets. Our dog does quite well with it- gives him a wide platform to stand and stick his face out the window...

My only thought is to use it when towing, but I find the tow mode does a pretty good job of finding the right gear (e.g., downshifting when descending steeply). I haven't bothered with the gear lockout feature.

I haven't really opened it up yet, just one commute and a couple errands. But the increase in power...
Glad you like them! It’s really personal. The XLT seats are not great and after testing a lariat I concluded they would also be uncomfortable for me.
I have the same complaint as you with the side bolsters in my XLT. I recently test drove a Lariat just to see if it was better. IMO, that problem is the same - the bolsters are too close together.
My solution was to buy a seat bottom cover and put some towels under it. The towels are only as...
