Technically it's a bypass valve.
The stock system puts air back into the system behind the MAF I'd reckon (most stock turbo systems are like this), which means the computer is calculating for that air that isn't actually passing the MAF. So, when you remove that air you can run rich...
So, I don't think this goes here, but I have no idea where it does go.
Got invited to Ford's Early Access program today for beta testing updates and such. Anyone else?
I can do it myself, but I don't have a PC, and don't have a burning desire to buy a Windows based laptop.
Still find it insane that dealers want so much to download and program a map. They aren't doing any actual tuning. To your point there is nothing magical at all here.
I know this is an old thread, but... I'm struggling to find someone local to do the install at a reasonable price.
Grody quoted me $400 today. That's nuts. And they were the cheapest I talked to.
Anyone in OC have a lead?
It is doubtful that the tune itself ever gets an update based on the procedure to get CARB certification.
The tuning module itself likely does get updates periodically like any other piece of hardware.
Incidentally, anyone know the cheapest Windows laptop that will run FORScan (potentially...
I think this is the right forum... it's external. Anway, installed this today. The included template makes it all super easy. Provided you're cool with drilling into your bumper. My stock mount has already been hit on something, so that's solved now.
This is my first Adventure Lab product, and...
I just put the passenger side in yesterday, but it ended up taking me two days because, no matter what they tell you, they are not regular torx bolts on the tie down hooks - they are torx plus.
You could do it with regular torx, but you're better off using the correct bit. And take your time...
Be sure to verify that I have not driven the vehicle. My having driven the vehicle is a strong indicator that it has experienced being driven in anger.
Mine was also optioned with it in Southern California. Because it's so needed here.
Interesting that they don't show a kit on their site, just the cord and element separately.
A recall you say? Got any more info?
It happens to me every once in a while. Kinda annoying, but my wife finds it amusing.
I'll say, Ford sucks at key fob design. They are massive. We also have a 2026 Honda Passport with fairly small fobs that include all the same features, but are much better designed.
Come on, Ford... it ain't...
We had an agreed upon total budget which left me room for a few things. She encourages most of my shenanigans.
Oh, I did order a bed mat from Ford, 100% at her encouragement. Hoping it keeps things from sliding around a bit.
I mean, there was already tint, and mud flaps, and things I don't necessarily count.
And I might also have ordered the ProCal. Allegedly. But probably.
Less than a month and here we are...
Have the Builtright bedside molle panels, a compressor w/mount kid by SDHQ, and have been looking at some chase lights. But that's it! That's all. I am done. Dee oh en ee. Done.
Until I'm not.
I have XPEL XR Plus at 35% on all the windows. Same as we have on all of our cars. It keeps the inside so much cooler.
Windshields also have film, but went with Llumar 80%. XPEL only offered a 70% that had a slight blue to it, which I didn't want. You can't tell the front is tinted, but the...
