It was my understanding that only works if you have a keypad.
So I just tested mine. Took one fob outside,
It will let me lock a fob in the truck if I lock the truck with the keypad.
If I lock and shut the door it honks and unlocks.
If I have the other fob in my pocket, it will let me lock a fob in the truck.
Good info. Do you have the little lock button on your door handle? The one if you put your finger to it locks? I didn't try that. And I don't have a keypad.

Had my Maverick for over two years. Never set it off accidently. It's gone off twice in the week I've had my Ranger. Must be something different about the FOB buttons between the two.

I got used to having a silicone cover on my fob after my previous GMC. Sometimes it would roll all the windows down, or be unlocked. The buttons were too easy to press

The Ford is the same, so I also got silicone covers. These were what I got: https://a.co/d/0axHqRF3

Yes, but I didn't think to try that.
Ok, tried. It did nothing. Won't lock with the fob inside.

Figures. I miss the days of leaving my fob in the 5G. I could use the keypad (5G had one) or the app.

You could get the keypad. Mine came without one and I added it.

It happens to me every once in a while. Kinda annoying, but my wife finds it amusing.

I'll say, Ford sucks at key fob design. They are massive. We also have a 2026 Honda Passport with fairly small fobs that include all the same features, but are much better designed.

Come on, Ford... it ain't 1997 still.

Yep! We've got a '22 Passport Elite. Remote is half the size with recessed buttons. Never accidentally set it off.

This fob is even bigger than my old Focus ST, and that was... like 2012? More isn't always more.

That's true. And that will allow you to lock your fob in by locking with the key pad, right?
It does for my 2025... So I assume so...

So the keypad seems like a good option. Does anybody have a part number for it?
Depends on which truck - model year AND how it's equipped.

They are generally non returnable, so be certain before you buy if you buy it yourself. A dealer has to activate it. I usually do whatever I can to cheap out, but in this case I just had my dealer do it all. Probably only cost 50 bucks extra anyway...

I made the appointment and they used my vin to make sure they had the correct part.

My pn was SK47-14A626-A. $155
They charged me $112 labor.
Total $267
But as I said, make sure you get the one for your truck.

I use mine daily, it was well worth it.
