For me it is a toss-up between the Ranger (Raptor specifically) and the Canyon
1. Ranger (Raptor only)
2. Canyon <-- Which I have a deposit on
3. Colorado
4. Tacoma (TRD Pro/TH only)
5. Ranger (non-Raptor)
6. The "others"
I'll be replacing my 2007 Tacoma. It has seen 185,000+ hard miles and it is time for a modern vehicle that can get out of its own way in the mountains AND not get 16mpg.
In an ideal world, everyone would stop paying these gouger prices and the greedy dealers would stop charging it. But it is a free economy so you can do what you want to do.
But look at it another way... you pay $4k over MSRP... you drive it off the lot. You get t-boned a mile down the road...
The track system has been on all Tacos since 2005. The other "What's this?" item just appears to be the side of the bed where the tailgate latches. I assume this was a black or dark blue truck?
This is exactly the experience I had last year buying a new Lexus NX for my wife. We put money down and waited, sight-unseen because the dealers had NONE and even when they got in stock it was gone within hours for the wait list. They wouldn't let us drive one, or even SIT in one until "our car"...
Have you even been to a city? 🤔
Our public "officials" here in Denver seem to believe that farce. But I don't know anyone without a car. Other than a few exceptions, the majority of city people still own and drive cars.
RRaptor at MSRP... we can all wish and dream. But with Ford Corporate not following through with their threats of no-allocations, I'm going to guess it will be extremely difficult to find one not marked up
The answer to our EV-obsessed society is "simple".... nuclear power. It is by far the safest and most reliable. And with "micro" nuke plants, we can put the power where we need it.
The grid being able to handle it (even on a localized basis)... that is a while different story.
