Passenger side windshield wiper isn't going back down

It’s been posted several times that this is the wrong way to do it. In the manual it states to turn the ignition on, engage the wipers, and when they’re high in their arc shut off the ignition; it’s now safe to pull the blades away from the windshield. Forcing them up from resting position can cause damage.

Hadn't read that. That is a dumb way to engineer that... because I'd bet the vast majority of people are definitely NOT going to do that

It might be more common than you think with modern cars. My German cars have been this way for the last 30 years and with manufacturers the world over trying to squeeze better efficiency from the vehicles any way they can, wiper blades tucking below the hood line when not in use helps cut down drag.

The gear teeth in the wiper motor are very tiny, and plastic. Easily stripped if you pull on the arms...
