EPA limits VOC output that determines paint technology and application/ containment processes, NOT paint film thickness.
All the OEM manufacturers, N.A., Europe, Asia etc. basically use the same paint technologies and universally have the same stringent specifications for film thickness...
I would recommend the high temp silicone tubes. For the small difference in price and not having to cut it's not worth the risk.
I thought about drilling drainage holes but didn't. After 9 months there are no signs of corrosion.

Plastidip easily separates at a feature line or tight gap so masking only needs to be close and not exact.
This is why it's simple to black out badges and emblems with Plastidip.
Put on a minimum of 4 coats and it will last years. I've painted out exhaust tips on my jeep that were still good after 4 years and 75K miles. Doesn't chip like normal coatings.
