Gary, I was able to turn mine on this week. I though it might be RGB like Jason said here, but as it turns out, It's CAN controlled light. That's why you can't turn it on just connecting to 12V.

Found this today on my center console. Seem some videos and this is for configuring a new key to the car (that have factory keyless system). It's probably just the plastic with nothing useful there since my car uses the regular key, but will look further to see if there's any hope.

You probably changed something and didn't even notice. Delete your shortcut from your phone and download just this one back. It should work just fine.
