I think by the time you've paid for your rack the prospect of another $800-1100 on a Hullavator is overkill for some boaters, maybe?

Yup. I mildly panicked as I bought my first set. But, wow, once you use it (especially for long boats like yours or tandems) you never look back.

In fact, liked it so much we bought a second Hullavator set-up.

Thule stuff lasts forever. My first rack setup I purchased from a guy on Craigslist in 2009. The only reason it is retired now is the new Ranger.
