So I'm planning out my first oil change which will include swapping the factory skid for Rival's to have an oil door for the future. I hear that with ramps the oil will hit the skid so I'm thinking of getting a drain valve. I've heard lots of chatter about the Ronin valve, but there isn't a version of that for the 2.3L that I can find. The options I'm seeing are below, but none of them seem like a perfect solution. Is there anything I've missed on these? Or a product I'm overlooking?
1. Fumoto F137 (https://www.fumotousa.com/f137s.html)
+Has a lockout clip (2 factors to release oil)
+Can be run without a hose (for the occasional dealer or mechanic oil change)
~Has a cap (sold separately), but doesn't screw on (not really a second factor, but keeps clean).
-Shape of valve means it sticks out slightly, no choice of orientation (driven by threading)
-Nipple appears to be permanently fixed to valve?
2. Fumoto F107SX (https://www.fumotousa.com/f107sx.html)
+Has a lockout clip
+Can be oriented at any angle (but seems to be driven to point downwards by the pan anyway?)
+Can be run without a hose
~Has a cap (sold separately), but doesn't screw on.
-Sticks out even more than the F137 due to right angle bend
3. EZ-107 (https://www.ezoilchangevalve.com/store/p2/EZ-107_[Thread_size_:12mm-1.75].html)
+Has a screw on cap (sold separately)
+Nipple is removable
+Can be run without a hose
-No lockout clip (Still 2 factors with a cap though)
-Shape of valve means it sticks out slightly, no choice of orientation (driven by threading)
4. ValvoMax/Votex (https://www.valvomax.com/products/m12-1-75-quick-twist-valve-with-stainless-drain-tube-knob-1 or https://votex-us.com/MGSMQDP060)
+Has a cap (comes with)
+Slim profile (no protrusions)
+(Votex only) has a magnet
-Valve style looks restrictive & reliant on spring (plunger valve rather than a ball)
-Cannot be run without a hose (Hose connection activates valve. Maybe a dealer or mechanic would just remove the valve? But could cause confusion about how to drain if not familiar with)
For a true perfect solution I'd want something that doesn't protrude (I want to avoid underhangs in case god forbid the skid ever gets pushed up), doesn't need the hose to function, has a cap, has a magnet, and needs at least 2 factors to release the oil. Is there anything that anyone has found that meets these?
