Like all of you wishing to buy a new Truck, you do your research.
This Dude in the video is fairly well known in the industry. No Car Wizard though.
Should You Buy The Latest Ford Ranger? Thorough Review By A Mechanic
He does not like how rough the motor run's. He Slight's the motor.
One thing he said was he kinda leaned towards Hydraulic lifters. Then agrees the Shim under bucket is a better system. Japanese motorcycles.
You take the cams off pull of the buckets and change the shim spacer as needed. This setup will not move until wear occurs.
A good point he talks about having clips and lot's of plastic. Just a heads up be gentle on these fittings. Get the right tools to take them off if you intend to touch the engine. Keep an eye on the thin plastic tubing. Can break.
I am a logical guy. I like the extra room the Inline 4 has. in the engine bay. Easier to work on. lot's of air flow around motor.
The video is useful as you can see the lower hanging areas that are vulnerable to impact.
The drive shafts and CV joint shafts rusting is not a problem. I was not liking the rusty fasteners on the rear brake backing plates. I will eventually get a better tank guard over the plastic cover.
One thing that is better is the outside mounted shocks, not so vulnerable to a under carriage hit.
One thing if you go on a moderate trail I think its good to get a rear solid axle pumpkin bash plate.
Does anyone know what the valve adjustment system is on the MPC motor. I would think Ford would have kept this solid design.
