2024 Ranger under hood air compressor mount

Hello everyone. I've had my 24 XLT ranger for about a year now, and want to add on board air. After doing a good amount of research, I decided to go a little more DIY, and got a Smity Bilt 2781 compressor.

I would like to hard mount it. I found some people who fit it in the rear wheel well area, but I have the integrated box step, and seems to take up most of the room. So under the hood seems like the spot.

The passenger side behind the air box has enough room, and the compressor fits there, but it's pretty heavy and I haven't figured out a way to hard mount it yet. Has anyone seen one mounted here? Or any other good ideas? Here are some pics of the area. The side of the hood has some holes I could use, but don't know how to support the other end.

I looked into this as well, but as I don't have the box steps I ended up putting mine behind the rear driver's side wheel like you mentioned. I looked at the pirate camp co bracket kit for some DIY inspiration, so maybe start there. The only way I could see to do it in there was to fab up a bracket or multiple brackets that mount to that horizontal body rail, under the air box and/or behind the coolant overflow tank. The air box has some metal standoffs underneath that a bracket could tie into. Definitely want multiple points of contact with the truck cuz those air compressors are heavy.

KR Off-road https://www.4x4truckleds.com/ makes one for that location on the Broncos. I’ve asked them to look into ones for the Rangers. Maybe if we get a bunch of people asking them for one on the Rangers, they may look into it and finally do it.

We looked at putting one there while we designed our bracket for the Viair compressors. While there's room, I wasn't confident in the strength of any of the oem brackets in that area. I can revisit after I'm done with the engineering on our Viair rear mount kit, which is hopefully by the end of the week.
