6g XLT Tailgate Lock

On the Lariat, the tailgate locks when the doors are locked.

XLT locks as well, so I'm assuming all 6G tailgates lock with central locking when closed.

Are you talking about a lock when the tailgate is open, so it can't be stolen?

If so, unlike the 5G, you do need to unbolt it to remove it at all. The tailgate locks for the 5G were bolts that made it so you couldn't pull the tailgate if it were open, but that isn't possible on the 6G anyway. I'm assuming because of the torsion bar.

The tailgate should lock with the doors across the trims. My 2020 STX even has this.

Yes, from open position. Taking delivery this Friday and wanted to see if I needed to purchase a tailgate lock. Hearing of some tailgate theft trends (like the catalytic converters)

Unlike my 5G this tailgate ain't coming off without a fight, between the dampener and the torsion spring, the whole tailgate is bolted on, not easy to remove by the looks of it.
