As the title says. I have officially started the process of adding heated mirrors to my xlt. Back in april I popped the door panel above the mirror plug off, and found my xlt is prewired for heated mirrors, turns, and puddle lights.

I ordered the heated glass. and I got the pins for the mirror side of the plug. I'll be updating this thread when I start the swap, and forscan easy programing options to enable(should just be in each door module, ill have to dive back in and look). I'll get a new battery for my infrared instant read thermometer to show it working too(hopefully lol)

This is the wire you need(pin 1) to see if you're prewired for heat, and the WT1013 is the pin you need for the mirror plug to go in pin 1

Its funny, my 2012 escape xlt came standard with heated mirrors, yet my 2025 ranger xlt, it was an option.

So to add puddle lamps would I need all new mirror surrounds?

I say the full assembly, the xlt mirrors dont have the cutouts for the turns, or the puddle. or you could add strips under the door/mirrors, and tap the wire in the door mirror harness. the one circled in red. pin 11(the plug does have the pin locations #'d) you maybe be able to drill the hole in the bottom of the mirror where the puddle light went, and put in a set, then wire them in. the pin for the heated glass, is the same for the turn and puddle lights

you can then use forscan to enable them. and change your zone lighting in the bcm or the apc? from 2 zone(front and back like my xlt) to 4 zone(front, back, and both sides) and i think then each door module

Hi! Were you successful in adding the heated mirrors? Also, do you have the part number for the heated glass that you ordered? Thanks.

Awesome, thanks! Can you send the part numbers for the glass when you get the chance?
I will be getting the part numbers for you soon. I have had them installed about 5 days and they work awesome. I need to find some extra pins. For now I just cut and spliced, and made jumpers for the time being.

and when I get time, Ill be updating this post with the temporary wiring, and the walk-through of how to swap em and stuff untill I can get the proper pins to make it easily removable/factory

so while Im waiting on being free enough from work to go into my dealer with the 2 pins I cut off the truck side to get the proper pin, Ill leave this here I ran the wire I had that was a correct mirror plug pin, this wire is for the puddle lights, I then ran 3 more wires, 1 for the ground, 1 for the mirror heater, and 1 for turn signals. I can use those as the wires inside the mirror, and just tap the pins to them.

2 of the wires I ran, are just dead ended on both ends. the ground and heater I poked out through the rubber next to the plug and depinned the truck, and just spliced into the ground, and the heater wire. then into forscan to enable them. I found in the HVAC module, and each door module.

as for removing the mirror glass. the FSM shoes a slot a flathead fits in. and that is the point of pry on thr mirror glass only. and it doesn't feel good. I had to put more pressure then I wanted to the first time. but was able to pop off the glass.

Do you insert the flat head screwdriver in until it gets to the center of the round plastic mirror mounting plate and center of the glass or just along the edge where the slot is? Twist the screwdriver or pry up on it?

My 2025 XLT has the wires at pin 1 on both sides. The heated mirror part #'s you show in your post do fit an XLT housing with folding mirrors, Blis and cameras?

Just a recap, I will need to swap out the mirror glass and connect wiring from them to pin 1 (power) and Pin 8 (ground). Will I need special connectors for the two terminals on the back of the glass? Then reconnect Blis and enable the heated mirrors and climate relay function in Forscan?

Thanks!!!!!!!

This is the wire you need(pin 1) to see if you're prewired for heat, and the WT1013 is the pin you need for the mirror plug to go in pin 1

Its funny, my 2012 escape xlt came standard with heated mirrors, yet my 2025 ranger xlt, it was an option.
So Pin 1(mirror heat) and pin 10(turn) on the mirror side take a WT1012 pin each, Pin 8(ground) and pin 11(puddle) take a WT1013 pin each. The mirror glass takes 2 WT(waiting on cousin in parts dept to look up my bill and let me know what 4 pins he got for the glass, will update when he get back to me) I did have to take a set of needle nose pliers and squat the mirror pins slightly to make sure there was no chance of them falling off too, they were a lil loose for my liking

This will allow you to add heated mirror glass, puddle lights, and if you want to drill some holes and add some 3/4 button leds or even a side shotting led strip behind the mirror on the edge of the housing for turn signals. if you only want heated mirrors, pin 1 and 8, if you only wanted puddles pin 11 and 8, only want turns, pin 10 and 8. you have options.

I got the pins, picked them up today, suppose to rain later this evening, and tomorrow, and possible saturday. but I will update this post once I get them installed.

next payday I will pick up a set of amazon puddle lights so I can get my wiring for them done, and hole cut in the underside. or I might just wait and get a half decent pair from form lighting if they got the new style out. or I might just add a new Diode Dynamics dual revolution rock light under the mirror, and have the white as the puddle, and the amber as the turn. only thing then is I probably have to get their PWM modules to then dim the rock lights output for the lights. lol

It just goes to show options. I see other places are starting to make 3d printed under mirror mounts for the dd rock lights, maybe we can get them to do the rangers too.

Finally got around to removing my jumper wires and getting the pins in the plug, now its easily removable just like factory. Still trying to track down my recipt with the 4 pins for the mirror tabs. but the information thus far will get you to the pins on the glass if you have connectors of your own to fit.

Next for me is to get some Diode Dynamics dual function rock lights for the puddle/turn signal lights.

this is how I made my jumpers, I just cut off the pins and butt spliced the wires in, and these are the female pins I used on the mirror glass it self. and the part number Im trying to find for the 4 of these, the head is slightly larger then the pins on the glass, all I did was squat them slightly with pliers, and ran heatshrink up to the very edge to protect them.

I did oversize the wiring inside the mirrors, as thats what I had. once I go to put in the puddle/turn lights, Ill be redoing the wiring to less bulky sizes and length.
