Hello All : For what its worth AMP will not help you. For my Raptor did my homework 1) F=150 Raptor has two motors an can be wired into eng. bay plus must cut boards. 2) Bronco Raptor has Four Motors an no need to cut boards.But will need to pull power from OBii Connector only .
Also beware of fast hard closing, tryng to work on this problem right now. A person on this web site may have a fix looking into rubber plug for mine.

So Trident let me know they just wired them up to the dome light, she didnt have much info but i am assuming that would mean that both sets of steps (drvr and pass) come down when any door is opened which is no big deal. But if anyone else has these hooked up and working, i am still interested in hearing how and where the signal is tapped in from under the dash(where do you hook up the blue and white wires from the AMP OBD plug) Thankx for everyones help Chris

Some vehicles use a switched ground instead of 12v. Do you know which the Ranger is? Might be why yours only went up?
