Any idea what this is for?

So I was organizing my RR and noticed 2 things, 1 what is the item circled in the picture, it wont come out (easily) and it giggles like it was snapped in. Nothing on Ford accesories is remotely close.

Also has anyone found a custom cut console bottom pad/liner like the silicone ones made for trays and cup holders? I don't mind if it's silicone or neoprene etc as long as it will stop any rattling.

i think that panel pops out if you have to manually put the transmission in neutral when something is wrong. i think the unlock button is under it, if i remember what i read correctly.

i had to put a clean red shop rag in there to stop the noise of stuff because i didn't find anything precut last time i looked. its been months though so check amazon

Yup. That's what's under there. I actually had to use it.

Mine wouldn't stay snapped in place so I just put some gorilla tape over it so nothing would fall in there.
