The weather is finally cooperating and I can begin some actual work on my 2024 Lariat.
When I traded in my 2021, I removed most of the accessories. Including a Bak Revolver X4S and BillieBars. Both need some modifying to work on the new truck.
I installed the cover in November. Took some time today to shim it so the top locks in correctly. Still need to sort out the length of the rails and modify the larger/deeper clamps I purchased.
I will be installing extruded aluminum t-slot on each bed rail. This will then support the BillieBars. To do this, I made some brackets to go into the stake pockets. I’ll run stainless carriage bolts drum the slot, through these brackets, and use a washer - lock washer - nut inside the bed. I also cut a few shims as it seems like the bed rails are not flat front to back.
I also added a USB-A QC and USB-C PD outlet and two switches to the panel that holds the 12v and AC outlets. One switch is for some LED strip lights I will add the perimeter of the bed.
A couple pics of today’s work. More to follow once I begin the installation.
