IMO, one of Fords bad designs is the plastic bed rail covers.
It would have been great if Ford had some consideration to seal them for water/dirt intrusion instead of throwing the problem onto the consumer to resolve.
I would prefer to just have the old school steel bed rails instead of the plastic caps with lots of holes underneath.
I know there has been several threads about sealing the caps. All trial.and error.
It would be great is someone could designed a seal kit for these things.

i know your frustration. Im like that, too.
There are at least 4 or 5 different configurations that use different holes below the rail caps. One example, the fixed sailplane, or the movable one for Rangers in Australia and asia.

Those need different holes. Even the stock plastic covers need some to be held. they surely leak by themselves.

It's worse than you think. There's a 3/4" gap between the cover and bed, meaning you have to install spacers if you want to put on a bed cap.
